A Very Short Note: Democracy, Quantity, and Power

If democracy is about quantity, then how will it accommodate the choice of the less quantity?
And if it is about following the will of the bigger quantity, then why is it in some cases the less quantity got their wills followed?

Do not you think that even there is a representative system, but the number of representative themselves are rather small? But many times they do got their wills followed.

Take an example of business conduct. The number of people working in the business sector is smaller compare to the whole society. But they do got to their wish fulfilled : sales that lead to profits.

Then is it true that the less quantity will always be the losing part?

Or rather it is those who have the right power who win, whether they are the bigger or less quantity?

If it is, then there might be a great misconception of the identification of democracy as a mere quantity rules.

Perhaps, based on the principle of representative system (in which their numbers are often small), democracy is more about accumulating power, collecting it into a less quantity, and implementing the power to fulfill the wish of.... whoever it is.
