kali ini aku mau posting hal yang lebih serius dari biasanya, sebenarnya ini sih buat jawaban dari soal aplikasi yang lagi aku kerjakan buat internship (doakan dapat yaaa c:) 

Tujuanku nulis di blog adalah biar lebih enak. Karena aku sering stuck dan bingung harus gimana nulisnya, temenku kasih saran agar aku nulis seperti biasanya aku nulis di blog. Nah, daripada setengah-setengah mending langsung aja kutulis di blog hahaha...


The Importance of Having Diverse Team and The Obstacles of Having One




Diversity is a demand for today's business, especially one involving in the global environment. Having diverse team means having team with people from various background as the member. It can range from the gender, religion, age, nationality, race, etc.. Open mindedness is an important aspect in a diverse team. It helps to grow the cultural understanding that help member to adjust with the differences they are having. It is important to remember that diversity require flexibility and deep understanding.


Diversity is an advantage  if it is managed well. Through diversity groups are provided with knowledge, experiences, perceptions, cultures from various aspects which help enriching the group for making better decision and also problem solving. Members of a diverse team comes with different skills, ability and experiences that can enhance the group productivity and responsiveness to the changing condition.


Diversity are enriching both team team and individual. It provide individual the experience of dealing with people from various backgrounds, in which sometimes need different approach.  Diversity also help to enhance one's personal growth. Being exposed to new culture, ideas, perspective definitely will help members gain intellectually as well as making them aware of the surrounding and their role as a citizen of the world.

In the other hand, diversity can also bring frustration. Main problem for diverse group commonly comes from misunderstanding and misscommunication. Communication is an important part in a workteam, especially the diverse one. Through good communication team work is enhanced and lead to the increasing level of productivity and cohesiveness within the group. Cultural background provide customs and meaning that vary from one to another. Spending time on understanding each other is an effective way to minimize it. It can be done by socializing during work time or off time.


As diverse group consist of various people, there might be time when problem solving are hard to derived for being ambiguous and confusing. Different perspectives and opinions with high ego and lack of understanding can lead to a poor work performance and lead to decrease productivity level. 

Ethnocentrism or the tendency to praise own ethnic background is also a problem in a diverse teamwork. This can be an even bigger problem than just misunderstanding since it might lead to racism, stereotype, even culture clash. 

The best way to overcome these problem is by having cross cultural training where each individual are exposed and and facilitate to know and understand different cultural background and the approaches to work with them. Solid diverse teamwork may takes time to build, however it is essential to remember that diversity is an advantage if it is managed well.
